I'm not annoyed at you guys, but this is a rant blog to the FIA...

Well, this aged well…

Four drivers at least, with a possible total of 8, will be forced to miss out on at least the Saturday race in Berlin in May, due to a WEC clash in Berlin.

Robin Frijns

Sebastien Buemi

Nyck De Vries and

Nico Mueller

This is due to their WEC contracts being prioritised over Formula e. now I am super annoyed that this has had to reoccur, with the last clash being New York City in 2017, 7 years ago. Yeah, whilst it was 7 years ago, its still not fair that this has had to, YET AGAIN, occur and I’m annoyed for a few reasons really.

1.      The WEC and FE championships are governed by the same governing body. This would surely mean that the calendar clashes wouldn’t happen in the first place due to the FIA being on it pretty much with calendar clashes  in the past. But you know. It’s happened now, and there is nothing that us as Formula E fans can do about it. But yeah…

2.      This will have a detrimental effect on Envisions Championship hopes, as both drivers will have to miss out on the Saturday, and to my knowledge, Envision have no reserve drivers. As I am an envision fan, I’m upset a little bit, but not too much, if the FIA say that robin and Sebastien can miss one race and join the next day. This also has been given a strong likelihood to happen, as per Sam Smith and The Race. I really hope that the FIA learn from this, and learn for future events.  Sylvain Filippi has voiced his frustration about the entire ordeal, and I am a bit peeved too. The FIA, as aforementioned, govern BOTH championships... why has this had to occur again... why :( .

3.      Jaguar have said, with envision using the Jaguar powertrain, that Dillman and Eriksson can be called upon for the weekend being Jaguar’s reserve drivers, (Sam Smith said via the race). However, I feel that it should be mandated in the Sporting Regulations that all teams should have reserve drivers. Regardless of whether they are a manufacturer team, or a customer team. But you know. I am not the FIA, and the fans don’t get much of a say these days tbh.

4.       Article 19.1 states: “It will not be possible to change Drivers for the last 2 Competitions of the season, except in the case of e-Licence suspension as defined in Article 4.5. Reverting to the initial Driver (the Driver on the Season Entry list as per Article 13.7) is not counted as a change of Driver. Changes for reasons of force majeure, or breach of contract will be at the discretion of the Stewards.” So lets hope that this can be fixed ASAP. Cause i do not want this to happen again, and I'm, sure plenty of the paddock don't want a repeat of this either...

Just gonna finish this mini blog by saying one point.

FIA, you govern both championships. Please make sure that this doesn’t happen again. Cause I will be sooooooooooooooooooo vexed if it does…

So yeah.
