Viva Mexico!!! Pre Mexico blog

Hey guys.

Time to don those sombreros, and play those mariachi tunes, as its time to head to the Circuit Hermanos Rodriguez once more.

That’s right!!! After a month off, its race week once more. Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and new year and are ready for racing to restart

This weekend, Mexico City will once again host a formula e race.

In Mexico last year, Season 10 kicked off in emphatic fashion, with Pascal Wehrlein winning the first race of the season. He would be joined on the podium by Sebastien Buemi, and Nick Cassidy. The latter getting a podium in his first race for Jaguar, having left the Envision Racing team at the end of season 9. He was replacing Sam Bird who had left for McLaren, being reunited with his once race engineer Stephen Lane.

Pascal Wehrlein has been declared medically fit to race this weekend, after a horror crash last time out at the Sao Paulo ePrix.

The injuries, as detailed below by my good friend Nick Golding of RacingNews365, were only Minor, and miraculous.

“RacingNews365 has been informed that Wehrlein suffered a concussion and bruising to his chest and lungs in the accident. He has also confirmed that injuries were sustained in his heavy shunt which required time to recover from over the festive period.”

Had there been no Halo, who would have known the outcome. Its outcomes like this that make me very grateful, and thankful, for the halo. I must admit, I was very sceptical at first, however I couldn’t imagine racing without it now. It, in the past 4 years alone, has saved 3 lives after crashes.

The circuit itself is 19 corners long, attack mode, like previous years, is in the awesome stadium section at T15, and around 40,000 fans are expected to grace the circuit to watch fe race again.

Predictions wise, I think Jaguar are going to continue their strong form from Sao Paulo, and have both Nick and Mitch finish inside the top 10, with either a McLaren, Jaguar powered car, or Porsche powered car winning the race.

Qualifying wise, I think either Mitch Evans, or Pascal Wehrlein will be on pole, both having taken pole in Mexico before.

Surprises wise, I think either CUPRA KIRO driver does have a shot at a good result this weekend, with the team running Porsche power, however, I also think one of the McLaren drivers could be in with a shot.  As we have seen time and time again though, its Formula E. Anything can happen!!!

So yeah!!

Also apologies for this being late. With work and everything else, I just didn’t have time to sit down and properly edit this
