If you haven't noticed by now, (I mean its plainly obvious) I am supporting Envision Virgin Racing in Formula E, as well as a few other teams. I am writing this blog both out of boredom and informative approaches.
So. Why Envision Virgin Racing I hear you ask!!!
Well there are a few reasons One reason is that the garage is pretty much a 2 car operation. Everyone works so well together, whether that being Laney [Stephen Lane] Bert [Fermine] Stephan [van der Burg] and Sam's performance engineer, or Sylvain [Filippi] Chris [Gorne] Leon [Price] and everyone else. It shows not only on track, but off track as well, especially when the team and drivers get together for the simulator sessions at Silverstone. The sense of happiness, especially with Sam, is prevalent. Yes Sam does post a lot on his socials, but to be honest i don't blame him one single bit. I'd do the same in a job as awesome as his. But anyway!!! Back to the point. You can see every race weekend that a LOT of work goes in to the cars to get the team and drivers at their optimal performance rate. Every time the team gets a good race or qualifying result, i can not help but smile, and sometimes cry if it is a win, as I know that a huge amount of work has gone in to the car to make sure that it is performing correctly. My second reason why I support such an awesome team, is because you can guarantee that they will do something awesome to make you smile. Whether that being finishing 3rd in the championship by 1 SINGLE POINT!! last season, or filming behind the visor and making me laugh until I almost wet myself. I remember back in January when they quote retweeted me and then followed me on Twitter. That was one of the best days of my life. Hands down. No question about it :). It made me cry a touch, but what’s life if you don’t fan girl a little over one follow that means the world to you. They are truly the best for fan interaction but there will be more on that in a minute. Which brings me swiftly on to reason 3. They always go above and beyond in terms of fan content and noticing them. The amount of times they have noticed me and made me smile is waaaaaaaaay too many to count on fingers. Whether that being a like on twitter, or a post like on Instagram. It truly means the world to me as I know it does for others as well. Ever since I started supporting the envision boys, I have made so many good internet friends and many of which I am hoping to meet in London next year. Shoutout to James, Zoe and Kelsey :). Also since lockdown, they have been doing trivia Tuesday. I have been partaking almost every time, and mostly getting full marks. This week, however, I only got 4/6 :/. Suppose that isn’t bad to be fair though. I’m writing this in my season 5 EVR shirt and love wearing it to show my love and support for this team. Every time I put the shirt on, I always feel like I’m a member of the team and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Final reason. The work that EVR and their partners do is amazingly good. Recently, Genpact won the Hackett Group digital award in the analytics category for their collaboration with the team to develop the LEO (Lap Estimate Optimiser). This I think is a perfect example of teamwork, as it is helping Genpact to develop these tools further, so the team have better analysis of what will work and what will not work 15 laps before the chequered flag. Also, their partnership with Stanley Black and Decker ensures that the team have the most up to date tools, and a wide range of tools to ensure that cars can be fixed and sent out again. Also with the RACC (Race Against Climate Change) all partners and the team have that one vision. To combat climate change and curb the circumstances before it is too late. Sorry for the length of this. It’s a subject and team I am really passionate about. I’m also so bored at the minute so bear with as I spam my social s a lot. Have a good week guys Natalie
