Firstly, it has to be my first thing I did this year. Bastille. The lads were so funny and down to earth; we met kyle around the back of the academy by the tour buses, and he was so sweet. Dan had a selfie with me, and pompeii went 5x platinum whilst I was in soundcheck. Was a shock to me and the lads "ooo ooo guys!! Pompeii's just gone 5x Platinum! Really? Yeah!!" Was a funny reaction too.
Secondly, London for the ePrix. Was asked the weekend before if I wanted to present the winners champagne to the winning driver on the podium, and I said yes. It was so nice, and as my tickets were delayed, as a sorry from FE, I got £100 worth of free merch, which was very nice. Massive shoutout to FE Co-Founder Alberto Longo too, cause if I hadn't had chased it up, I wouldn’t have done both days like originally planned, and it would have been a day sightseeing. Jake Dennis won the day I was handing out the champagne, and it was an amazing atmosphere when he won. He was so sweet, and Stoffel was too. Saw Lucas Di Grassi and a few other drivers under the podium, and that was cool as well. The next day, we went to the Autograph session again, as mum and I had signed up for both days. I spent most of Sunday's session at envision as id done everyone, except for Jaguar and Mercedes, the day before. The team were so welcoming, and made me feel at home, even though there wasn’t much time. MASSIVE shoutout to Jenn, who made sure that she made time for both James, and myself during the sessions, and the team for being so welcoming. Also handing out the champagne to a brit whilst in london!! Was a special feeling too.
Thirdly, and most amazingly, is Oliver Heldens and Tchami noticing my artwork this year. More than once!! This made my highlights, cause it’s a special feeling when my faves like my tweets of my artwork, that at times makes me feel like punching a brick wall cause of the detail, and me being a perfectionist. But anyway!!!! Never in a million years did I think Oliver would comment on my artwork. But as usual I was proved wrong. He is one amazing guy, and a DJ I so desperately want to see live. I'll leave a screenshot of what he said below this bit of writing.
Fourthly, is starting my tram challenge at the start of November. I don’t live in Nottingham as you guys are aware, so it's nice once in a while to get out and explore new pastures. As of writing this, I am almost 1/5th of the way to completing this, having done 9 stops this year:
Beeston Centre
Bulwell forest
Clifton Centre
Clifton South (terminus)
Hucknall (terminus)
Old market square (finish point)
Phoenix Park (terminus)
Royal centre (start point)
Toton Lane (terminus)
This challenge will be hard, as it’s a lot of stops, however it will enable me to explore the city, and the suburbs a bit more. Clifton is an amazing town, and one I am going to visit again soon, along with Beeston, so if you guys wanna play tag team feel free :). I also did all 4 termini this year, and got an amazing tram shot at Toton Lane when the sun was setting.
Oh and I also got a card off the king for sending a letter when the queen died. Made me smile when I needed it most.
I wasn’t expecting a reply, but today:
"you’ve got a letter from Buckingham Palace"
"no way!!"
Opened it and it was a letter from King Charles.
Cried a bit cause it isn't me if I don’t, but I bet I'm one of the first people to receive a letter with the King's postal mark on it. It's a special thing, that I'll treasure forever.
Saving possibly the best concert as the penultimate point, its Jingle Bell Ball time!! My 3rd time in London this year, having gone down the 2nd time when the queen died. And boy it didn’t disappoint. Woke up on the Monday with the classic concert hangover, but it was such a good night. Got to see 3 of my fave artists, tick off an event that has been on my bucket list for a solid 7 years, and have a great night. Becky Hill, as usual, slayed the whole time she was on stage, Joel Corry and Tiesto both smashed it and it was such a good night!!. Was walking back to canary Wharf Elizabeth line station fresh off the Jubilee line watching my videos and smiling. That’s when you know I've had a great time. It also snowed after the event, so it was nice walking through fresh snow, but also terrifying, as I didn’t wanna break my already broken ankle. Iykyk!! Was such an awesome weekend with mum, and I also faced my fear of heights, as I had climbed the O2 the night before, and that was so awesome :). Even though the walkway was starting to get a little bit icy, The view was insane!!!
And finally, listening to the capital weekender with the legendary MistaJam, and getting a very special shoutout after Turn me on by Riton and Oliver heldens the other weekend. Mistajam is a legend of the radio scene, and to get a shoutout every weekend for the past year and a bit, just makes my weekend that little bit better if I have had a rubbish day. Mistajam always plays the party tunes to get the weekend started good and proper, and seeing him at the aforementioned Jingle Bell Ball… it was special. That was for sure
Thank you guys for your continued support this year. It truly does mean the world to me. Happy new year, and I hope it treats you well
Natalie signing off :)
